Apple Pie Quesadillas

Apple Pie Quesadillas

Apple Pie Quesadillas are an enticing twist on a classic apple pie! Delicious apple pie filling and rich caramel sauce is nestled between two crispy tortillas for a crave-worthy treat!

Equipment

  • Pan
  • Large Knife
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 8 small tortillas
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce
  • 20 oz can apple pie filling
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, whisk together sugar and cinnamon.
  • Next, pour the apple pie filling onto a cutting board and use a large knife to coarsely chop up the apples. Set aside. 
  • In a pan over medium heat, melt ½ tablespoon of butter.
  • Once melted, add a tortilla to the pan for about a minute to allow it to crisp up. Take it out of the pan and set it aside. This tortilla will go on top of the quesadilla.
  • Melt another ½ tablespoon of butter in the pan. Add the second tortilla, then drizzle on 1 tablespoon of caramel sauce. Spread 1 cup of the apple pie filling over the caramel, then drizzle on an additional tablespoon of caramel topping.
  • Then, place the crispy tortilla on top and let the quesadilla heat through. Flip if needed.
  • Finally, dust the top of the apple pie quesadilla with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Move it to a cooling rack and repeat the process for the rest of the quesadillas.
  • Allow them to cool slightly before cutting them into quarters, then serve with caramel dipping sauce or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

  • You can serve these on their own or top them with ice cream, whipped cream, or caramel sauce!
  • I like to use canned apple filling for ease, but you can certainly use your own pie-filling recipe. Be sure to cook the filling before adding it to the quesadilla. 
  • If you need to flip the quesadilla, use a large spatula to support it during the flip.
