Old Fashioned Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce
Ingredients:
For the Bread Pudding:
- 4 cups stale bread, cubed (French bread or challah works well)
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
- 2 tbsp butter, melted (for greasing the dish)
For the Vanilla Sauce:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
