Fluffy condensed milk bread is a delightful treat that’s soft, slightly sweet, and perfect for enjoying on its own or as part of a breakfast spread. Here’s a recipe to make fluffy condensed milk bread at home:

Ingredients:

  • 2 and 1/4 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup warm milk (about 110°F or 43°C)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for dough)
  • 1 egg yolk (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds or toppings of your choice (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Activate Yeast:
    • In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Mix Dough:
    • In a large mixing bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook, combine the bread flour, condensed milk, melted butter, salt, beaten egg, and activated yeast mixture.
    • Mix everything until a dough forms.
  3. Knead Dough:
    • Knead the dough by hand on a lightly floured surface or use the stand mixer on medium speed for about 8-10 minutes until the dough is smooth, elastic, and slightly tacky but not too sticky. Add a little more flour if needed.
  4. First Rise:
    • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 1-1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  5. Shape the Loaf:
    • After the dough has risen, gently punch it down to release air bubbles. Shape it into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  6. Second Rise:
    • Cover the loaf pan with a kitchen towel and let the dough rise again for about 45 minutes to 1 hour until it reaches the top of the pan.
  7. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) during the last 15 minutes of the second rise.
  8. Egg Wash and Bake:
    • In a small bowl, beat the egg yolk with a teaspoon of water. Brush the top of the risen dough with the egg wash. Optionally, sprinkle sesame seeds or your desired toppings.
    • Bake the bread in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  9. Cool and Enjoy:
    • Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
    • Enjoy slices of fluffy condensed milk bread plain, toasted, or with your favorite spreads like butter, jam, or condensed milk drizzle.

This fluffy condensed milk bread recipe yields a soft, tender loaf with a hint of sweetness from the condensed milk, making it perfect for breakfast or snack time. Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less condensed milk. Enjoy your homemade bread!
