Baked fish fingers are a healthier alternative to traditional fried fish fingers. They are easy to make and can be enjoyed by both kids and adults. Here’s a simple recipe for baked fish fingers:


  • 1 lb firm white fish fillets (such as cod, haddock, or tilapia), cut into finger-sized strips
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (you can use regular or panko breadcrumbs)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Cooking spray or olive oil


  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly coat it with cooking spray or olive oil to prevent sticking.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
  3. In another shallow dish, beat the eggs.
  4. Dip each fish finger into the beaten eggs, then coat it evenly with the breadcrumb mixture. Press gently to ensure the breadcrumbs adhere to the fish.
  5. Place the coated fish fingers on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, leaving a little space between each piece.
  6. Lightly spray the tops of the fish fingers with cooking spray or drizzle with a little olive oil. This will help them crisp up nicely in the oven.
  7. Bake the fish fingers in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy, flipping them halfway through cooking for even browning.
  8. Once cooked through and crispy, remove the fish fingers from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
  9. Serve your baked fish fingers with your favorite dipping sauce, such as tartar sauce, ketchup, or aioli. They also pair well with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
